Yeah yeah, third post in as many days or something I know, but this is hilarious. A friend of mine sent it to me, and you don’t need to know german.

- Would you like some chablis with your fromage en tranches, sir?
As some of you may have noticed, the title of this blog recently changed. This is the result of Alan and my feeling that the powers that be in the department probably would not like some (most) of the things on this blog associated in any way with the university or our lovely department. The current title is quite apt in my opinion, mostly because I came up with it. However, there might be differing opinions to mine, as hard to believe as that may be. Pursuant to this, I propose we make suggestions in this post about potential blog names. Readysetgo!

Fillin' in the blank
So, I was thinking: the solidarity we had in pursuit of scotch knowledge was fun and rewarding albeit a bit expensive. Concerted efforts by the group to enrich our persons shouldn’t only be restricted to alcohol, I think. So, why not we pick a topic to devote one night a week to and explore it to our heart’s content? Above are some suggestions. Thoughts?
Cornhole, Tiki Torches, and Chariot Building

Last year somehow Andy (or Adam?) managed to throw a party at my apartment. Not sure how that worked out, but in that same spirit, somehow I’ve managed to get the plans for a party at Adams rolling for tomorrow (Saturday). Here’s the plan:
- Brewery touring Saturday afternoon. Any ideas on when we should start?
- End bike riding fiasco at Adam’s.
- Eat food and be merry at Adam’s.
- Enjoy the Tiki torches and pretend like we will actually get work done building our bicycle chariot.
Also, a fellow SiParCS intern, Evan, is intrigued by this whole brewery touring idea, so he wants to try it out. He will be in Fort Collins tomorrow and will partake as well.
Tiki!
Sciences Map
In case you haven’t seen this yet:

From XKCDzors
http://informationesthetics.org/documents/scienceMapPrintMockupEd2.jpg
“This map was constructed by sorting roughly 800,000 published papers into 776 different scientific paradigms (shown as pale circular nodes) based on how often the papers were cited together by authors of other papers. Links (curved black lines) were made between the paradigms that shared papers, then treated as rubberbands: holding similar paradigms near eachother when a physical simulation forced every paradigm to repel eachother; thus the layout derives directly from the data”

How not to rob a store.
Andy, Tomo, Kate and I were talking about having a little shindig Wednesday night perhaps playing some texas hold ‘em, citadels, and/or other games. Anyone else interested in coming?
It will have to be a little later than usual because I’m not free until about 9PM, but I’m moving to Michigan on Friday so this is the only time I had free.
